Kallikratis – Kapsodasos Road (Crete)
This road has been posted in dangerousroads.org and it’s one of the famous hairpinned roads in the world. and it is located at Crete.
It’s between Kallikratis a small village in Sfakia and Kapsodasos, 11 km long between mountains. The route is about 24 minutes with 27 hairpin turns. This road rarely permits speeds over 30km/h. It will take you from the sea level to 800 meter high.
The road includes a challenging section (2.1km) with 7 hairpin turns and pretty steep (8.95%).
The road was asphalted in 2006 but is very narrow. It’s pretty scary, bumpy, small and empty, without barriers but with great views of Libyan (Southern Cretan) Sea.
