Location
Heraklion Airport, also known as Heraklion International Airport or Kazantzakis Airport, is the main airport in Crete and it is located east from the city of Heraklion. From the city you can get there by road “Ikarou”, in all other cases the E75 motorway will get you there. The distance from Heraklion airport to the center of Helaklion is 5 kilometers, about 10 minutes with a car ride.
How to get from Heraklion Airport to Heraklion?
You can use public transportation. The blue buses are city buses and the green buses are regional buses. During summer there is a bus (blue bus) leaving to the centre of Heraklion approximately every 10 minutes. There are several bus lines that you can use, travel time is around 20 minutes. On Sundays and holidays the frequency is lower. Heraklion has two regional bus stations, east of the old town (bus station A) and west of the old town (bus station B).
